"A Celebration For Our Youth"
Here in the Philippines, we celebrate National Children's Month every October. According to Presidential Proclamation No. 267, it's time to recognize the value of Filipino children as society's most valuable asset. The month-long celebration observed by governmental and non-governmental organizations in the Philippines is also a campaign to end violence against children and promote their physical, emotional, moral, mental and intellectual well-being.
Every year, millions of children around the world are victims of unspeakable violence, according to UNICEF. Children of all countries, cultures and social classes are subject to various forms of abuse, neglect, exploitation and violence. Abuse occurs in homes, schools, institutions, workplaces, communities, armed conflicts and natural disasters. In many countries, much violence against children is legal and socially acceptable, including corporal punishment and sexual abuse. Violence faced by children takes many forms, including exploitation and abuse, trafficking, corporal and degrading punishment, harmful traditional practices (such as early marriage and female genital mutilation/circumcision), and recruitment into armed forces and groups. will take. Growing up with violence and abuse severely impacts a child's development, dignity, physical and mental integrity.
Step into National Children's Month with lots of fun and exciting activities for kids. The month ended with an amazing awards ceremony recognizing the children's talents and personal achievements.
